The gym and sanctuary phases began in March 2018 and were completed during 2018, with the sanctuary ready before Christmas.
Solving for Specialized Spaces
The existing gym floor contained lead at levels that prevented standard landfill disposal. To address the condition safely and avoid unnecessary removal, the team installed a poured-in-place Polyurethane resin athletic floor over the existing surface. This approach provided a durable new playing surface while responding to the environmental constraints already present in the building.
The round sanctuary created a different set of challenges. Its sloped floor and ceiling height of approximately 40 feet required three pieces of aerial equipment, including self-leveling scissor lifts. Doors had to be removed to bring the equipment inside. High moisture levels beneath the building also required a specialized flexible flooring attachment system designed to accommodate the conditions.

In the sanctuary, three coordinated projectors work together to create a wide, panoramic visual experience. New sound-attenuation panels help control reverberation within the round room, improving audio clarity for services and events.
